AcuRite Access
straight to WindRose.
The Access can be told to upload somewhere other than AcuRite’s cloud. That carries every module it hears — outdoor array, towers and the indoor probe — and your My AcuRite app keeps working, because we pass each reading on after storing it.
What you need
- An AcuRite Access, and a computer or phone on the same network as it.
- The MAC address of the Access, printed on the device.
- The local IP address of the Access, which your router will show you.
Step by step
In WindRose open Stations, then Add station, and choose AcuRite Access (direct upload).
Enter the MAC address of your Access and save. WindRose shows you a hostname.
Find the local IP address of the Access in your router’s device list.
From a browser on that same network, send the hostname to the device’s configuration page: POST it to http://<access-ip>/config.cgi with the field `ser` set to the hostname above. The device reboots with the new setting.
WindRose shows the station as live as soon as the first reading arrives.
A tester screenshot will replace this placeholder.
Worth knowing
Your My AcuRite app keeps working. WindRose forwards every reading to AcuRite after storing it, so you end up with both dashboards rather than one instead of the other.
The configuration page only answers on your local network, so this cannot be done remotely.
The Access sends one module per message, so the first complete reading appears once every module has reported at least once.
If AcuRite is ever unreachable, your readings still arrive here — only the forwarding pauses.
