Ambient Weather
on WindRose.
The WS-2902, WS-2000, WS-4000, WS-5000 and WS-1965 consoles, the AQIN indoor air module, soil probes and extra channels. The KestrelMet 6000 reports to the same network and connects the same way.
What you need
- An ambientweather.net account with your station on it.
- An Application Key and an API Key, both created on that account.
Step by step
Sign in at ambientweather.net and open your account page.
Create an Application Key and an API Key. Copy both.
In WindRose open Stations, then Add station, and choose Ambient Weather.
Paste the Application Key and the API Key, then press Look up.
Pick your device, identified by its MAC address, then name it and save.
A tester screenshot will replace this placeholder.
Worth knowing
Ambient allows one request per second per key, so WindRose paces itself. Readings refresh every few minutes.
Ambient stores history in five or thirty minute steps depending on your station, which is the finest resolution the charts can show for past days.
KestrelMet 6000 owners use this guide: the station uploads to the Ambient network, so there is nothing Kestrel-specific to set up.
