Weather Underground
on WindRose.
Any hardware that uploads to wunderground.com, whoever made it. If your station already appears on the Weather Underground map, this works.
What you need
- A wunderground.com account that owns the station.
- Your free PWS API key, and the Station ID exactly as Weather Underground shows it.
Step by step
Sign in at wunderground.com and open Member Settings, then API Keys.
Create or copy your API key.
Note your Station ID. It is usually letters and digits, all upper case, such as IROME1234.
In WindRose open Stations, then Add station, and choose Weather Underground.
Enter the API key and the Station ID, then press Look up and save.
A tester screenshot will replace this placeholder.
Worth knowing
Type the Station ID exactly as shown, in capitals. A lower-case or mistyped id reads as a station that is not reporting.
A free key allows a limited number of calls per day, which is why WindRose paces its requests.
Weather Underground does not pass on most accessory sensors. If your hardware has its own cloud, connecting that instead usually gives you more.
